- What is a Better Option - Wooden Or Stainless Steel Balustrading? 6 weeks 6 days ago
A baluster is a moulded shaft, square or of lathe-turned form, in stone or wood, and at times in metal, standing on a unifying footing and supporting the coping of a stockade or the handrail (also known as a banister) of a staircase. Reproduced in this way, they form a balustrade. Individually, a baluster shaft may explain the turned form, taken by a brass or silver candlestick, an erect furniture support, or the stem of a brass chandelier.
- Who wants an IAMA option to show only threads with author responses? 17 weeks 1 day ago
I was thinking it could look something like this. You could turn it off to view unanswered questions and upboat the ones you want answered, but if you just are interested in what the author has already said you could sort them by that option. Maybe the thread with the most author responses (as in, a conversation between the author and a user) would be listed at the top and then decreasing until the unanswered ones are at the bottom, sorted by upvotes only.) Eh?

- The Deadliest Type of Fat 16 weeks 4 days ago
When most people think of excess body fat, they tend to visualize the type that you can easily see, poke or pinch. This is the type of fat that sits directly beneath the skin and often creates the "spare tire" image around the abdominal region. While this type of fat, known as subcutaneous fat, certainly isn't desirable from a visual standpoint, it's actually much less of a risk to your health than another very dangerous type of fat known as visceral fat.

- Reddit, I am seriously considering running away from life and starting over. How would I do this? 7 weeks 1 hour ago
Note: This post began as something I was going to submit to /r/SuicideWatch, but I decided a wider audience was necessary. Essentially, I am on the end of my rope. I'm 18 years old and going to community college in the fall. I have no real friends. I live with my mother, who is abusive and an alcoholic. My father is very distant, and he is also a former physical abuser and now sometimes emotionally abusive.

- My college uses 300 chinchillas a year to test the effects of factory noise on hearing. At the end of the year, all 300 chinchillas are killed. Who would be willing to adopt a deaf chinchilla? 18 weeks 2 days ago
Granted, they're mostly deaf chinchillas, who have been subjected to some traumatic noise for a year. For 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, they're subjected to factory noise. But who would adopt one of these chinchillas? I know I would if I wasn't living in the dorms. Either way, I might try to figure out a way to get one. I emailed the Director of Sponsored Research and Programs, asking if this would be an option. What does Reddit think?
- Why Reverse Osmosis Systems May Not Be the Best Choice 10 weeks 5 days ago
You are considering a water filtration method for your home. This is a very good idea. No one knows for sure, what hidden ingredients may be in their water. You will need to decide on what type to use. You may look into RO units, also known as reverse osmosis systems.
